6pm to 8pm
In this lecture Emma Stone will talk about the work done at the Villa Massimo, illustrated by photographs taken by Miss Emerin Keene, nurse and daughter of the American ambassador to Rome, who worked in the Villa Massimo in 1918. Using case studies, the lecture also covers general reconstructive surgical methods at that time. Between 1900 and 2000, Chelsea’s Millbank buildings housed the Royal Army Medical College.
This event is presented by Friends of Millbank, who work with Chelsea College of Arts to keep the history of the Millbank site alive.
