How to write a PhD proposal

This three-hour workshop is aimed at UAL post graduate students and staff who are considering applying for a research degree. The session will support the writing of both practice based and wholly written based research proposals using the UAL headings and guidelines.

What will I learn?
The workshop will focus on the writing of the proposal identifying information that potential supervisors and research departments look for in an application. You will be encouraged to:
  • produce a focused research question
  • gain an understanding of aims and objectives
  • consider the historical, theoretical and contemporary context of the research     
  • develop an appropriate methodology and bibliography

Who should attend? 
This workshop is open to UAL staff and current postgraduate students ONLY.
It is aimed at anyone planning to make a Research Degree application (either at UAL or another university).
