14 Nov 2018

6.30pm to 8pm

20 years ago, the BA Product Design course launched an initiative to increase the numbers of women studying product design.

It was incredibly successful for the course, laying the foundation for a truly mixed cohort that endures today.
However, there are a myriad of nuanced and blatant issues our female alumni have encountered in their careers.

Established designers who graduated from the BA Product Design course will share their experience and personal trajectories to illuminate and explore commonalities and differences. Each guest speaker will present insights from their career, before leading on to a  panel discussion chaired by Dr Betti Marenko, Contextual Studies Leader on BA Product Design.

Confirmed speakers include:

Roselle Lam. Senior Creative Lead at Bow & Arrow
Kaye Toland. Co-founder of Méahé Design
Afroditi Krassa. Hospitality Designer and Founder of AfroditiKrassa
Michiko Nitta. Artist, director of Burton Nitta
Jane Penty. Product designer, educator and author, passionate about creative and intelligent sustainability
