Throughout the Chelsea Space exhibition ‘The Democratic Dish: Mintons Secessionist Ware’ (19 Sept – 26 Oct) visitors are invited to complete a template (physical or digital www.chelseaspace.org/archive/mintons-transfer.html) inspired by the work on display. From the submissions, four will be selected to be turned into transfers and workshopped onto large ceramic plates (chargers).
 
Submissions close on Friday 19 October, with the judges’ selection announced on Friday October 26, the final day of the exhibition. The workshop for the winning designers will be led by Amy Hughes, ceramic artist and specialist ceramics technician at Chelsea College of Arts, on Saturday 3 November.  The ceramics will then be on display for six weeks in the Chelsea Cafe opposite Chelsea Space (19 Nov - 14 Jan).
 
Judges include: Grayson Perry RA, Turner Prize Winner and UAL Chancellor; Donald Smith, Director of Chelsea Space; and ceramic artist Amy Hughes.

Saturday 3 November: Four designers/artists invited to attend ceramics workshop to take part in the transfer process
19 Nov - 14 Jan: ceramic plates with selected designs to be displayed in the Chelsea Cafe
