10am to 12pm

It is clear from both tutors’ observations and UAL institutional research that engaging with industry and communities of practice improves student attainment. But what are the mechanisms that bring this about? And how can we ensure these opportunities are accessible to all?

This workshop will review evidence that links student attainment with industry engagement, and explore how best to maximise the educative impact of placements, live projects and competitions in ways that promote equality of access.

Who should attend?
This workshop is most relevant to staff who advise or support students about placements or who lead course components that entail live projects or placements.
