Pop Up Common Room: Young Professionals in the Arts

This event is open to UAL postgraduate students and alumni who are studying or working as curators, arts professionals, writers, historians or managers

Join UAL’s Postgraduate Community and Young Professionals in the Arts for an exclusive viewing and tour of the FBA Futures exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London SW1.

Now in its seventh year FBA Futures showcases the outstanding art graduates of 2017, selected from across the country. The exhibition will be a combination of degree show and newly made painting, sculpture and original prints, all exploring contemporary figuration and ideas of representation and draughtsmanship. The show includes work from mainstream art schools and atelier models and alternative postgraduate programmes such as Open School East and Turps Banana. FBA Futures alumni have gone on to be selected for the BP Portrait Award, New Contemporaries, the Griffin Art Prize Residency and other successes.

At this Pop Up Common Room you will:
    •    Take part in a private tour of an exhibition which brings together a selection of outstanding graduating artists from 2017
    •    Meet other curating/ arts management postgraduate students and alumni from UAL
    •    Meet other young professionals in the arts from beyond UAL

Young Professionals in the Arts (YPA), founded in 2009, is a London-based networking group created to foster connections for creative and visual arts professionals. Members include gallery directors alongside those who work in galleries, auction houses, museums, writers, independent curators and in other professional capacities within the visual arts as well as collectors. YPA attendees are provided the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and foster relationships with colleagues from across London at regular events.
