10 Jan 2018

8.30am to 10am

This event is open to all current UAL postgraduate students and alumni

Join UAL’s Postgraduate Community for an exclusive, breakfast tour of Can Graphic Design Save Your Life? led by curator Rebecca Wright (CSM Programme Director and Course Leader, MA Communication Design).

Comprising over 200 objects including hard-hitting posters, illuminated pharmacy signs and digital teaching aids, 'Can Graphic Design Save Your Life?' at  Wellcome Collection considers the role of graphic design in constructing and communicating healthcare messages around the world, and shows how graphic design has been used to persuade, to inform and to empower.

This exhibition highlights the widespread and often subliminal nature of graphic design in shaping our environment, our health and our sense of self. Drawn from public and private collections around the world, it features work from influential figures in graphic design from the 20th century, as well as from studios and individual designers working today.

At this Pop Up Common Room you will:
    •    Take part in a curator led tour of the show
    •    Explore the relationship between graphic design and health
    •    Visit the gallery outside of normal opening hours
    •    Meet other postgraduate students from across UAL

After the tour ends at 10am, you will be free to stay on in the exhibition.

To secure a place, email pgcommunity@arts.ac.uk with answers to the following questions:
    •    Your name, course and college
    •    How visiting the exhibition will benefit you or your practice
