1pm to 4pm

The Wordpress based UAL platform Myblog.arts enables UAL students and staff to quickly and easily create blogs for learning and teaching. This is a popular and effective tool for documenting creative processes and encouraging reflection within a social context.

What is the overall aim?

This workshop explores how blogs can support engaging learning. It allows staff to become familiar with the key features of Myblog.arts and Wordpress (upon which myblog.arts is based).
At the end of this practical hands-on workshop you will be able to:
  •     Understand the role of blogs within learning and teaching
  •     Explore ideas for the use of blogs in your own teaching context
  •     Create an account and log into myblog.arts
  •     Make a blog post and a page, and understand the difference between the two
  •     Upload images and other media and add them to a post
  •     Categorise and tag blog content
  •     Customise the look and functionality of the blog
  •     Explore creating group blogs
  •     Be aware of copyright issues in the digital domain
