DRAW: Drawing Space

This event is open to all UAL Postgraduate students, UAL staff, as well as a wider community of invited alumni, practitioners and researchers in this field.

Join DRAW and architect Marcus Beale for an event reflecting on architectural drawing and its role in defining space.

Marcus will talk about the role of drawing in current architectural practice and the creation of new spaces, with reference his work at Marcus Beale Architects (MBA). MBA specialise in doing 'new things in old places' and have instigated radical alterations to protected buildings and historic sites, as well as realising striking new developments in sensitive settings.

Marcus's presentation will be followed by a discussion chaired by Tania Kovats, Course Director, MA Drawing.

More about Marcus Beale:
Marcus Beale is the Director of Marcus Beale Architects (MBA). He founded MBA in 1991. He is an occasional visiting lecturer at various schools of architecture specializing in sound and space and acts as a conservation architect expert witness on major developments in historic settings.

More about DRAW: This event is organised by DRAW (Drawing Research at Wimbledon), a postgraduate reading group focusing on interdisciplinary approaches to drawing.  DRAW is led by Tania Kovats, (Course Director, MA Drawing) and supported by the UAL Postgraduate Community.
