Southwark Council (SE1 2HZ)

This exhibition at Southwark Council showcases a project by BA (Hons) Spatial Design students in response to the council's recent Southwark Kerbside Strategy.

Working in groups, students were asked to provide an alternative use for kerbside locations to address the big issues facing Southwark as an inner London borough, to regenerate streets beyond parking requirements and reconnect people with the street. Key considerations while designing were enriching people’s experience of the street, imbuing the location with a sense of place, and providing people with a sense of belonging and purpose.

Now, as part of Open City's Green Sky Thinking festival, work from the project will be on display in Southwark Council’s foyer. Visitors will be able to view the proposals and vote for their favourite option. Winners will be announced at a special evening event on Friday 19 May.

Free and open to all, booking essential for the special evening event via Eventbrite.
