Booking is essential and you are welcome to bring one guest with you to the open day, please indicate so on the booking form.
The open day will incorporate a matinee performance - "Some Voices" - by final year BA Acting students, followed by Q&A session with the cast and tutors after the matinee.
Set in 1994, Some Voices was the response of British playwright Joe Penhall, to the Tory mental health policy, Care in the community. Large numbers of the institutionalised, mentally ill were reintroduced into society where unprepared families were expected to cope. Armed with medication he loathes, Ray, a young schizophrenic is reunited with his estranged overworked brother who is no less emotionally ill-equipped to cope. Floating through West London, Ray meets Laura, a young Irish woman who he falls for and tries to rescue from her brutal boyfriend, Dave. Ultimately the characters will have to face life on life's terms in this touching investigation into the most vulnerable members of a system in crisis.
