10am to 4pm
This symposium will explore approaches to collecting and analysing male clothing within the context of archives and collections. Featuring papers from a range of speakers who represent archives with different private, public and commercial agendas, the symposium will consider both incidentally and purposefully formed collections. The idea of menswear as a growing area of collecting will also be addressed. In particular, the day will highlight and explore lesser known objects, narratives, collections and collaborations which engage with the subject of masculinities.
