Students and physicists collided during a recent collaborative and investigative visit to CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research. Two trips to the home of quantum physics in Geneva, Switzerland, involved the two parties engaging in experiments, lectures, conversations and collaborations. The experience gave students intimate access to the otherwise mysterious world of the large hadron collider and opened up the world of artistic research to the scientific community.

In response, the MA Art and Science students have created works to communicate their experiences and insights, which not only celebrate the true diversity of skills they have to offer, but capture the zeitgeist of CERN and its cultural significance in the 21st century.
