Spatial Practice Autumn Series: Andreas Lang and Mara Ferreri

Busy lecture theatre

20 Oct 2016

6.30pm to 8pm

The Spatial Practices Lecture Series is a programme of weekly lectures by guest speakers invited to present work related to the concerns of Spatial Practices at Central Saint Martins.

In our autumn term series we will hear from some of the new faces to the programme about their work as spatial practitioners outside of Central Saint Martins.

Andreas Lang and Mara Ferreri / Notes from the Temporary City

Andreas Lang (public works) and Mara Ferreri are the authors of Notes from the Temporary City, a book that provides a complex picture of the dynamics reshaping contemporary London, from the pressure of market forces to new structures of governance and the ingenuity of its residents. Their interrogation of Hackney Wick has the power of synecdoche – it speaks of a wider metropolitan condition where temporary uses are entangled in the desire to both break from capitalist urbanisation and profit from it.
