Observer / Jonathan Cape/ Comica Graphic Short Story Prize Exhibition 2014

This free exhibition in the Central Saint Martins Platform Theatre Bar (above) allows you to enjoy reading the finalists’ & winners’ four-page Graphic Short Stories for the 2014 Competition. Now in its 8th illustrious year, the annual Observer/Cape/Comica Graphic Short Story Prize continues to discover remarkable talents in the UK, many of whom go on to develop graphic novel projects with Jonathan Cape.

Please note: exhibition is closed on Sunday 2 November. 

This year has seen a bumper crop of entries and the lucky runner-up and winner will be announced in The Observer on Sunday October 26th, with the winner’s story printed in The New Review supplement. Members of the jury will present the runner-up and winner with their cheques at the free Comica Comiket Independent Comics Market on Saturday November 1st at 6.30pm. Join us and celebrate with them!

The judges this year are Peter Serafinowicz (actor, comedian and writer), previous winner Isabel Greenberg (author of The Encylopedia of Early Earth), Rachel Cooke (The Observer), Dan Franklin (Publisher, Jonathan Cape), Paul Gravett (Co-Director, Comica Festival) and Suzanne Dean (Random House Creative Director).
